Lip Enhancement & Augmentation
Lip enhancement and augmentation are among the most requested minimally
invasive aesthetic procedures.
Lips are among the most characterizing features of the face. With age,
lips loose their fullness and contour: lips vermillion becomes thinner and
thinner while the overlying skin acquires those fine unaesthetic vertical
wrinkles especially in the upper lip.
Cosmetic lip enhancement and lip augmentation consist in injecting a
dermal filler with the purpose of reshaping and/or enlarging the upper and
lower lips.
The procedure is carried out after the lips are numbed with a local
anesthetic via a nerve block. Once the lips are adequately anesthetized, a
dermal filler such as Restylane is injected into the lips to enhance the
lip shape and/or to augment their size to meet patient's desire and
expectations.
